This homeowner in Longboat Key, FL reached out looking for a better way to organize bikes, paddle boards, and everyday grab-and-go items while also preparing the garage for potential flooding in the future. Although the concrete garage itself could withstand storms, protecting personal belongings above potential water lines was a major priority.
After meeting onsite, we designed a storage-focused layout that maximized vertical organization throughout the garage. The solution included extensive gray Handiwall heavy-duty PVC slatwall installed along the left and back walls to create flexible storage for tools, gear, and everyday essentials. To make bike storage both convenient and space-efficient, we added Steadyrack roll-on pivoting bike racks that allow bikes to swing neatly against the wall while remaining easy to access. As a finishing touch, we also incorporated a Monkey Bars dual kayak system mounted above head height on the back wall to safely store the homeowner’s paddle boards up and out of the way.
The final result created a clean, highly organized, and flood-conscious garage setup that maximized wall space while keeping the floor open and functional. Lawson, Barron, and Jake completed the project and delivered a storage system tailored perfectly to the homeowner’s active lifestyle.
