This Siesta Key, FL homeowner reached out looking for tall garage storage that could take advantage of the home’s impressive ceiling height. Because the property is also located in a flood zone with hurricane concerns, it was important to consider what could happen during a storm surge. After working through two design iterations, the final layout stacked standard tall pantry cabinets on top of 36-inch-tall base units, creating a neat, polished look while allowing the lower cabinets to be replaced separately if they were ever damaged by flooding.
The finished design features American-made, white, commercial-grade melamine cabinets with black 16-inch bar handles, a hand-finished birch butcher block countertop, and gray heavy-duty PVC slatwall for additional organization. Fill strips along the right side of the cabinet run accommodate the existing conduit for a clean, custom fit. Gabe and Lawson completed the entire project in just one day, and a video walkthrough helps showcase just how much storage this two-layer design adds to the garage!
